Much Ado About New Joss Whedon Film 'Much Ado About Nothing'

There's much ado about Nathan Fillion today at Google Plus that we found out about Joss Whedon's newest film after the epic The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods movie. And now there's much ado about this new Joss Whedon film! This time around though Whedon is up for a romantic comedy film based on a play by William Shakespeare. It is entitled 'Much Ado About Nothing' which is about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words.

Being a Whedon fan myself, I think this romcom is going to be a great one. I'm not really a fan of Shakespeare but with Whedon on the director's spotlight I'm giving this a try when it gets released.

The movie is starring Nathan Fillion of course, there's Amy Acker, Alex Denisof, Ashley Johnson, Clark Gregg, Sean Maher, Fran Kranz, Tom Lenk and Riki Lindhome. While completed last year, Much Ado About Nothing movie is set for a June 21st release this year. But it will have a limited theatrical release so others will have to wait for its Bluray release.

Check out the trailer of Much Ado About Nothing!

Quvenzhané Wallis Stars in Annie Movie Remake

Quvenzhané Wallis is perhaps the most charming child star today. After her Oscar-worthy debut in Beasts of the Southern Wild, she's set to take the role of Annie. After weeks of being in the rumor mill, finally Columbia Pictures announced that Wallis will indeed take te role in the upcoming remake of the famous musical. She was however the second choice, since the producers of this film (Will and Jada Smith) have their daughter Willow Smith to play the role.

 Plot:
"An orphan, Annie, and her dog Sandy are placed in the lap of luxury for a week as a part of a publicity campaign for Oliver Warbucks. However, Annie's stay turns out to be much more than anyone had bargained for as she works her way into everyone’s hearts and learns a few things for herself."

The story is based on a 1930s comic strip called 'Little Orphan Annie'. This remake is going to be directed by Will Gluck (Easy A) from a script by Emma Thompson which was later rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna. The remake is expected to start this Fall for a mid 2014 release.

Emily The Strange Movie in the Works!

If you're a reader of this blog, or at least a secret leader, you would know that one of our favorite hollywood actress is Chloe Grace Moretz and that's after watching her as Abby in Let Me In and of course, Hit Girl in Kick Ass. Liam Hemsworth Topbills Love and Honor

Romance films whose lead character are soldiers would always take me aback by its patriotic, heroic or coming of age message. While that is ideal for character development, I feel like love stories about these men who are to face war and death have been done a lot of times.

But what do you know? Coming this March is Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) romance drama film entitled Love and Honor. The film is about a young soldier in Vietnam who gets dumped by his hometown girl friend and together with his best bud decides to go AWOL and return to the States to win her back.

Would you choose love or honor? Obviously from the plot, Liam's character is going to choose love. But then the title is Love and Honor, so he might still have some sort of honor after leaving war to fix a breakup.

This movie is also starring Austin Stowell (Dolphin Tale) , Chris Lowell (The Help), Max Adler, Lauren Mae Shafer, and Aimee Teegarden (Prom). It is directed by  Danny Mooney on his first feature film debut. Well, good luck to that!

Life of Pi Review

Ang Lee's Life of Pi immerses one to a struggle of faith, hope and survival. But despite the pious tone of the story its ultimate power is to make people rethink their beliefs to the unknown, the impossible and God by raising questions and not providing answers. Pi's extraordinary tale of survival may be about making someone believe in God (by design) but it's really not about believing or making one believe, it's about asking yourself what do you believe in and how strong is it.

It touches the oversensitive topic of religion and God without being to preachy and yet lifts up your faith. And that's why the movie works in spirit. With a narrative stylized mostly in flashbacks the movie is emotionally gripping with the right amount of sentimentality. The overall narrative however is not as commendable as the first few minutes of the film which paid homage to Bollywood with the fun and hilarious origin story of the titular character's name.

The first half of the movie was philosophical and then extremes of storytelling sailed towards the fantastic horizon of fantasy and reality in the middle towards the end. From a breathtaking shipwreck we are introduced to a world overindulgent of nature's greatest miracles. The use of 3D and CGI lived up to the middle's full potential and had me almost in tears for being such a visual spectacle.

Then comes the center of the film. The huge survival tale of Pi in the sea with a Bengal Tiger named Richard Parker after the disappointingly short appearances of the Zebra, Orangutan and the Hyena. Fortunately, the middle is paddled by newcomer Suraj Sharma's outstanding performance that took us to the Bio-luminescent waters, the world's biggest aquarium, a carnivorous island and even out of space. Cut back to present and we have Irrfan Khan's emotionally moving performance as he told the story that would make one believe in God. A story that brings up questions about faith, blurs the line between fantasy and reality and asks us which story we prefer.

Life of Pi is a tonic for the low-spirited and a fetish for visionaries. 5/5

The Rum Diary Movie (2011)

It's nice not to see Johnny Depp in a non-Tim Burton film once in a while. While I can't wait for his film Dark Shadows, to see him portraying the best drunkard in the world is perhaps a relief of seeing him living in the real world.

So, here's Johnny Depp's upcoming adventure drama film entitled "The Rum Diary". Based from the novel of Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary movie follows Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp), a divorced alcoholic and struggling novelist who decides to kick around in San Juan until his ship comes in, working as a journalist for a newspaper that’s on its last legs, drinking gallons of rum and experimenting with LSD. With his new friend Bob Sala by his side, Kemp becomes entangled in a corrupt hotel development scheme with a slick PR consultant named Sanderson.

The Rum Diary also stars Richard Jenkins,Amber Heard and Aaron Eckhart. Directed by Bruce Robinson. The Rum Diary, from its get-go seems to be one of the most amazing film. We mostly see boozers run down any alley on our walks but we don't know how they end up like that.

The film that has absolutely Nothing in Moderation! Catch The Rum Diary in Theaters this October 28, 2011!

Mud Movie Might Star "Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon"

Director Jeff Nichols is dead set to have Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon to star in his drama entitled "Mud". We recently heard of Chris Pine doing the project but it seems like Matthew's going to get the role.

In case you're wondering the movie "Mud" will be about a fugitive who encounters two 14-year-old boys who attempt to help him escape from an island in the Mississippi.

This project, as reported by Deadline, will be produced by Lisa Marie Falcons together with Sarah Green and FilmNation Entertainment's Aaron Ryder. According to Falcons "Jeff Nichols has written a beautiful story with rich characters learning valuable lessons through life-changing circumstances. With Jeff’s vision, this will be a work of art[...]It’s an incredible script which Jeff, along with Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Tye Sheridan, will bring to life. We’ve been privileged to work with incredible filmmakers like Danny Boyle, Tom McCarthy and Rodrigo Garcia and are thankful to add Jeff Nichols to that list."

True North Movie 2012

The director of the 2004 film Our time is up, Rob Pearlstein will come back to direct the comedy movie which he also wrote, entitled "True North".The movie "True North", will in fact be top-billed by The Hangover's Stu, Ed Helms!

True North movie will focus on a workaholic father to be played by Ed Helms who slips into a two-year coma after suffering through a horrific plane crash. (I wonder how he had survived?) So anyway, upon emerging form the coma, the once debonair man finds that he has undergone reconstructive facial surgery and looks nothing like his former self. He then must track down his family and reconnect with his former life.

So in that case, aside from the movie belonging under the comedy genre we might as well expected this to have at least a heartbreaking moment since it's all hard to accept that nobody knows you.Personally, the plot given deals with serious matter that it actually has a potential to become a maudlin plea.

It sounds like the comedic version of Unknown, it's like taking your life back after an accident movie.

I wonder who will play is his former self though. More updates soon so stay tuned!

Walter Salles' On The Road Movie

Director Walter Salles is working on a drama film starring Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, and Amy Adams entitled "On The Road". An inspiring movie about the high and lows of a circle of friends in the search for something while on the road.

Dean and Sal are the portrait of the Beat Generation living in the here and now during the Fifties. Their search for "It" results in a fast paced, energetic roller coaster ride with highs and lows throughout the U.S.

The movie On The Road has no definite release date yet but speculations lead us that this will be shown in the US by early next year or perhaps after Kristen Stewart's Breaking Dawn movie.

Hunger Games Movie 2012

May the odds be in your favor in the new action drama film "Hunger Games".From the 2008 young-adult science-fiction novel written by Suzanne Collins, comes the post-apocalyptic tale of a young girl thrown into a survival contest.

To be brought to us by Lionsgate and Director Gary Ross here's the official synopsis of the Hunger Games movie written by the author herself, Suzanne Collins.

In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 13 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

The compassionate young girl named Katniss Everdeen is going to be portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence. The movie "Hunger Games" is slated to hit theaters on March 23, 2012!

Meanwhile Entertainment Weekly featured Jennifer Lawrence on their cover as Katniss in "Hunger Games".
