Laika Announces The Boxtrolls!

Since Coraline, I've been a big fan of Laika! And I've become doubly impressed of Laika with the Oscar nominated animated feature ParaNorman.

Today, Laika together with Focus Pictures have revealed that they have started the production for their new animated project - The Boxtrolls. The new movie is a 3D-stop motion and CG hybrid animated feature based on the best-selling fantasy adventure novel Here Be Monsters by Alan Snow.

Anthony Stacchi (co-director of Open Season) and Graham Annable are currently attached to this project. Voice cast will include Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, Toni Collette, Elle Fanning, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Jared Harris, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Richard Ayoade and Tracy Morgan.

The Boxtrolls is a comedic fable that unfolds in Cheesebridge, a posh Victorian-era town obsessed with wealth, class, and the stinkiest of fine cheeses. Beneath its charming cobblestone streets dwell the Boxtrolls, foul monsters who crawl out of the sewers at night and steal what the townspeople hold most dear: their children and their cheeses. At least, that’s the legend residents have always believed. In truth, the Boxtrolls are an underground cavern-dwelling community of quirky and lovable oddballs who wear recycled cardboard boxes the way turtles wear their shells. The Boxtrolls have raised an orphaned human boy, Eggs (voiced by Mr. Hempstead-Wright), since infancy as one of their dumpster-diving and mechanical junk-collecting own. When the Boxtrolls are targeted by villainous pest exterminator Archibald Snatcher (Mr. Kingsley), who is bent on eradicating them as his ticket to Cheesebridge society, the kindhearted band of tinkerers must turn to their adopted charge and adventurous rich girl Winnie (Ms. Fanning) to bridge two worlds amidst the winds of change – and cheese.

Duncan Jones to Direct Warcraft Movie!

Source Code director Duncan Jones is set to helm the upcoming movie adaptation of the all-time favorite and highly successful MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) of Blizzard Entertainment - World of Warcraft.

 It can be noted that Sam Raimi (Drag Me to Hell, who also just completed Oz The Great and Powerful) was the first director to have been caught in a Warcraft movie buzz back in 2009. But what do we know? After almost 3 years Legendary Pictures have finally signed a director to helm the WoW Project.

We've also got something from the rumor mill that Warner Bros. is interested in Johnny Depp to star on this game of a project!

Disney's Maleficent Movie First Image!

MALEFICENT - The evil sorceress who has plagued our dreams with darkness turning them into nightmare is back to cast over a spell on our beloved Disney Princess Aurora. And today we got our hands on the proof that Disney is working on bringing back a tale as old as time but this time, just like in the film Mirror Mirror, we have the story centering on the antagonist. Check out Angelina Jolie as Maleficent below!

It's Angelina Jolie. I don't think that there is another woman with similar features that resembles Maleficent. Incredible, magnificent! Can't wait until March 2014.

Avatar Movie 2 is Slated for Release on 2014!

Fox officially announced that the sequel of Avatar, Avatar 2 is James Cameron's next project.From the very beginning they have been thinking of helming a movie sequel for Avatar.And after the major success of Avatar now comes another BIG announcement from Fox.

Just a year after the release of Avatar 2, is another installment of the movie - Avatar 3.And rumors has been circulating that the 3rd installment is going to be split up into 2.Yes, just like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and never to mention Breaking Dawn.Although almost exactly a year ago, actor lead of Avatar Sam Worthington had somehow revealed that they've signed up of doing a trilogy for avatar, it was just now that Fox announced that Avatar 3 may come out in 2015.

Based on what I've read from several movie websites across the globe, and also based from emails forwarded from some reliable resources.The story of Avatar 2 may lead us to neighboring Polyphemus and the Alpha Centauri A (ACA) solar system.And will most of the time, drive us into the depths of the ocean of Pandora and the lead character, Jack Sully may explore the enchanting forests of Pandora.
