Skewered & Roasted Game Review

This Thanksgiving with so many friends and family, I thought it was the perfect time to pull out my latest purchase called Skewered and Roasted for everyone to play. I bought it off of Amazon for $24.99 with $1.60 for shipping and handling - pretty reasonable I think for the 600 cards. It's a pretty hefty box.

The premise is simple enough with one person drawing a black card, called the roastee, who then reads it aloud with some sort of incomplete personal statement and then all players play the white card form their hand of six that best finishes the statement for the roastee. It can get wildly inappropriate with the goal of finding the white card that would be most insulting and most true to the roastee. A vote is taken to determine the winner. It was kind of the anti-Thanksgiving finisher, but after all of that thankfulness, it was truly entertaining to take each other down a notch. It was all in good fun.

We tried a couple of other variants with the roastee choosing the white card or having people paired up by the closeness of their relationship such that the wife had to pick the white card for her husband offering us her thought process. We all laughed so hard. We ended up playing for 2 hours. It definitely added to our Thanksgiving. Highly recommended!

Tom Hiddleston to Star in The Crow Remake

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston is being eyed to topbill Relativity Media' remake of The Crow. After years of being in a slow progress in development, with potential actors like Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper and James McAvoy being considered for the lead role, this is probably it!

Attached to the project is director F. Javier Guttierez. According to The Wrap, Hiddleston “recently had dinner with producers and sent them a makeup test that he did on his own in London.” The report also states that Hiddleston will “undergo a proper makeup test in the coming days.”

We believe Tom Hiddleston would be very perfect for the role. But the idea of remakes isn't really a step-forward to anything in Hollywood. I haven't seen the first movie which starred Brandon Lee who also passed away that time or while filming, but should this remake give justice to the well-loved character of Eric Draven then people, especially cult fans of The Crow, might just give their hearts again for another The Crow movie.

Much Ado About New Joss Whedon Film 'Much Ado About Nothing'

There's much ado about Nathan Fillion today at Google Plus that we found out about Joss Whedon's newest film after the epic The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods movie. And now there's much ado about this new Joss Whedon film! This time around though Whedon is up for a romantic comedy film based on a play by William Shakespeare. It is entitled 'Much Ado About Nothing' which is about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words.

Being a Whedon fan myself, I think this romcom is going to be a great one. I'm not really a fan of Shakespeare but with Whedon on the director's spotlight I'm giving this a try when it gets released.

The movie is starring Nathan Fillion of course, there's Amy Acker, Alex Denisof, Ashley Johnson, Clark Gregg, Sean Maher, Fran Kranz, Tom Lenk and Riki Lindhome. While completed last year, Much Ado About Nothing movie is set for a June 21st release this year. But it will have a limited theatrical release so others will have to wait for its Bluray release.

Check out the trailer of Much Ado About Nothing!
