Before Midnight Set for May 2013 Release Date

Almost two decades since their first film, Richard Linklater's third collaboration with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy is set for a limited May 2013 release after becoming a big hit at Sundance. I'm sure fans of the supposed but lovers in heart - Jesse and Celine are up for another charming and intimate exchange of stories between the two.

We meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna. Before the clock strikes midnight, we will again become part of their story.

What would this reunion be like? Should there be another sequel to this? How do you find the title Before Twilight? Before the Breaking of Dawn? Before Noontime?

It's sad that Before Midnight will only have a limited release. Everyone should see this film! Sony Pictures Classics will distribute Before Midnight on May 24, 2013 in New York and Los Angeles.

Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak

Legendary Pictures has not yet revealed any plot details for Crimson Peak but Guillermo del Toro is spilling around some essential details of his forthcoming horror movie which he said to be “a Gothic romance with ghosts” over his message boards.

Being eyed as a throwback to horror after the recent and ceaseless production of found-footage films, Crimson Peak is also going to be a “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.” Del Toro said via Deadline.

That's what we have so far for Crimson Peak but it's quite a lot given it's set for a later release date and that is next year! There are reports however that actress Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man) is in talks for the lead role which we know nothing about until Del Toro slips again.

The Last Stand Comes With Nice Firsts!

Ang Lee, James Wan, M. Night Shyamalan are three of Hollywood's best asian directors but with Koreans getting all the attention in music, movies, fashion, etc since last year. I'm not surprise that we'll have two new asian directors who will have their English-language debut this year.

I'm talking about Korean directors Kim Jee-Woon (A Tale of Two Sisters, The Good, The Bad, The Weird) and Chan-Wook Park (Oldboy, Thirst). But let's talk about Kim Jee-Woon for now. This Januart 18, will be his first hollywood action film 'The Last Stand' and as the title suggests, it's going to be an avenue for a lot of firsts.

For not only this will be Jee-Woon's first hollywood action film but also Arnold Schwarzenegger's first leading role in a decade.

Plot Summary: Action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his much-anticipated return to the big screen in Korean director Kim Jee-Woon's hard-hitting U.S. directorial debut, "The Last Stand." After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow. Cortez's path: straight through Summerton Junction, where the whole of the U.S. law enforcement, including Agent John Bannister (Forest Whitaker) will have their final opportunity to intercept him before the violent fugitive slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately rallies his team and takes the matter into his own hands, setting the stage for a classic showdown. - Coming Soon

The Last Stand is also starring Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, Luis Guzmán, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare and Genesis Rodriguez.

Human Pilots Giant Robots in New Pacific Rim Poster

Director Guillermo del Toro has been hired to helm the movie based on the script by Travis Beacham which will be set in the future where Earth tries to defend itself from an impending war spearheaded by monsters called Kaiju.

Here's the first look of the massive bots called Jaegers.

Plot:
"When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse."

M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth Movie

I honestly didn't quite like M. Night Shyamalan's The Village. Although I appreciated every second of The Sixth Sense and Devil, his film The Last Airbender turned my hopes up into gray. He just sucks bigtime recently but with the Father and son team up of Will and Jaden Smith in Shyamalan's Sci-Fi film entitled "After Earth". I'm raising my hopes up again for a worthwhile Shyamalan film.

“In After Earth, one thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (played by Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (played by Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.”
The concept of the film sounds great so I hope they won't waste such a promising movie with an amazing cast! The film is slated to hit theaters next year, 2013.

Legend Movie 2013

What could be the next big thing if ever "The Hunger Games" makes it to a worldwide teen sci-fi/action sensation? Probably a sequel but moreover, yet another teenage film from a novel called "LEGEND".

Legend movie, from the get-go may just become one hell of a movie although I would love to see some big and great changes on some twists in the story on its road to production. Like, the film sounds like The Hunger Games in some aspects. Nevertheless, the action here may just seem double because two teenagers would have to save the world and become the legend!

"The United States is gone, along with its flooded coasts. North America's two warring nations, the western Republic and the eastern Colonies, have reached a breaking point. In the midst of this broken continent and dark new world are two teenagers who will go down in history... Born into the slums of the Republic's Lake sector, fifteen-year old Day is the country's most wanted criminal.

A mysterious boy with no recorded image or fingerprints. A boy who should no longer exist. A boy who watches over his family until one evening, when the plague patrols mark his family's door with an X--the sign of plague infection.

A death sentence for any family too poor to afford the antidote. Desperate, Day has no choice; he must steal it. Born to an elite family in the wealthy Ruby sector, fifteen-year old June is the Republic's most promising prodigy.

A superintelligent girl destined for great things in the country's highest military circles. Obedient, passionate, and committed to her country--until the day her brother Metias is murdered while on patrol during a break-in at the plague hospital. Only one person could be responsible: Day. And now it's June's mission to hunt him down. When their paths cross, the truth they uncover together will become legend."

Director Jonathan Levine has been hired to direct Legend for CBS Films.Legend Movie comes to theaters in 2013!!

DreamWorks' "The Crood" Movie First Look!

I've been dying to see another animated flick. I was disappointed with the couple of the animated films that was released this year. They're not entirely boring but I want something that'll give me again this "wow" factor.

I better wait for this prehistoric animated film from Dreamworks with the working title "The Croods". So here's the first look for the "Croods" movie.

A comedy adventure that takes us back to the beginning - to a previously undiscovered era known as the Croodacious - a time when Mother Nature was still experimenting and the flora and fauna we know today hasn't evolved yet.

Well, after watching last year's Tangled though Disney has awaken the bitch out of me. I can't wait to see "Brave" also! Woot. It's midyear already, I hope some full length feature animated movie will make my day. The Crood movie voice cast includes Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Nicholas Cage and Catherine Keener. The movie Croods is listed for release on March 2013 by IMDB.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Movie Update!

Here's an update for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Movie!! Elizabeth Bennett's role is still open for anyone who wishes to get her hands on some nasty flesh eating zombies. Actress Emma Stone, who was reported to play the role of Elizabeth passed on the role in 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,' according to Deadline.

However, they didn't quote any source or any reason why Emma passed on Elizabeth Bennett's role. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is the dark, say crazy gory and undead interpretation of the film and novel Pride and Prejudice. This time around zombies will be taking over mortals during the Georgian era.

The movie is listed under development on IMDB but the release date is slated on the year 2013. Yes that's quite a long time from now! Anyway, Mike White will direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie. No cast was announced but having Natalie Portman on the producer's chair would somehow make us think she'll do a cameo on this one.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield. Can Elizabeth vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to watch!

More updates about who will be Elizabeth Bennett on this zombie movie! Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!!

Who do you think will be suited for the role of Elizabeth?

Robopocalypse Movie (2013)

Robopocalypse movie is an upcoming sci-fi film directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg.Robopocalypse is based on an epic novel by Daniel H. Wilson which is reportedly scripted by Drew Goddard (Cloverfield).

Yes, it's official! Spielberg is going to helm this sci-fi,thriller,action movie despite his BIG movie projects and hectic schedules. The news first broke at Deadline. But later on Mark Sourian of Dreamworks, announced last Monday that Steven Spielberg is going to direct Robopocalypse and that Spielberg will begin principal photography on January 2012.He also said "Robopocalypse embodies an imaginative story of a robot rebellion unleashed against the human race,"."This is a project we immediately sparked to and with Steven directing it we knew it was in the best possible hands to bring it to worldwide audiences."

Even before he starts filming Robopocalypse,  Steven still has to finish two films, which are Warhorse and Tintin: Secret of the unicorn. But given that Steven Spielberg as you may know him had been a notorious multitasker so he might just do Robopocalypse at the start of 2012..But then, I'm having doubts because Warhorse is going to be an ambitious film and I think it might just cause the delay, likewise with Tintin.
